One of my favourite tricks is when a game asks you for the name of an NPC that you've already been introduced to.

Funny, in my mind CCS codified a lot of Magical Girl tropes (moreso than Sailor Moon). I always thought of it as one of the classics in that regard, even if SM predates it with a few years.

I know that there's even older stuff like Cutie Honey, but I didn't think it was a genre at that point.
