Yes they are, only back then I did rather do everything else than sit down with a paper. No one helped us
see art as fun, and then our 'evil' art teacher would grade our Christmas or Easter cards badly without telling us what we did wrong😭🤣

Now I try to encourage kids around me to be creative.
