Yes, we played Arracourt again for "A Fistful of TOWs 3". And, holy cow, knowing the rules as we do now, is this a much more grim punch-fest. Let's see if the Wehrmacht has enough moxi to last. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

Six sessions. Twenty-four hours. Our 1809 Spring Campaign for "Snappy Nappy" ends in a Minor French win. It would have been bigger, but a near accidental stand by HIller's Austrians decimated the French force that would have overrun the Austrian lines of communication. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

We weren't competing as much as we were learning, but the Germans brought home a minor victory in our Battle for Arracourt for "A Fistful of TOWs 3". Biggest story was likely learning just how nasty indirect fire can be and how earnestly one much seek cover. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

Audible called: Contrary to plan, we're back to Arracourt for "A Fistful of TOWs 3". I promise, in compensation, there will be 22% more rules fumbling. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao4x... @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

Session two of "A Fistful of TOWs 3" went much more quickly, but we've still got much to learn. Who's winning our Battle for Arracourt I have no idea, but it's shaping up to be a fun scenario and a sleek system. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

EAST. They’re pushing EAST. Gah.

Capt. Achilles' boys have been trying to push west for weeks now and now they've got to face yet another batch of very intent Germans defending Cardonville in this scenario for "I Ain't Been Shot Mum". Thursday. @toofatlardies.bsky.social @armchairdragoons.bsky.social #IABSMRevolution

Fifteen 4' x 6' boards on which to play and our Spring 1809 campaign for "Snappy Nappy" looks likely to come down to two. Just west of Teugn, no fewer than five corps are preparing to square off with the Corsican on the field. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

Musing on a morning of umpiring a kriegsspiel: every historian intending to write of a military campaign should be required to umpire a KS. You'll leave far less quick to judge lost orders or, worse, those missives that pass in the night with very, very bad consequences.

Our 4,000-point battle for "Grimdark Future" that was definitely not Scarif ended in a sanguinary tie. This is a simple if not simplistic, smoothly-playing system that works at scale. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

One of our longest rules stumble-throughs left us little time to really see what "A Fistful of TOWs 3" can do, but there were tantalizing prospects as our Battle of Arracourt began. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

Half the way through a 4,000 point game of "Grimdark Future" -- one that is definitely NOT the Battle of Scarif -- the Rebels have more victory locations and I'm confident we managed 90% of the rules. Good fun so far. @aiannucci.bsky.social

I seriously love playing on the terrain he builds.

Yeah, there's this one, too.
