if you ask me, i think it has to do with *how* you use your yellow. if it's merely a speck of it like the lone flower jirita gave to kinton, it won't properly shield you from them, they'll just see it as a dead weed hanging from a pocket

we found out they can't see yellow through this file name from dmaorg, as you already know. the gif shows us a torch, an item often used in lore as a beacon, a guide, but in b&w, possibly pointing to yellow as a way to blind or otherwise distract bishops from their target

effectively distracting or incapacitating him, seemingly giving tyclancy the perfect window to fight off the smearing and run from nico

we know the banditos use yellow as some sort of camouflage, perhaps even a shield, so the yellow has to have some sort of blinding effect on them. this part in jumpsuit always stood out to me, how nico and his horse seem to react negatively to the yellow petals, +

my personal interpretation was some type of colorblindness, specifically tritanopia. kinton's letter seems to point towards that, even mentioning the possibility of them being completely colorblind +
