1:33 You know what did exist in 1993? AI. And I do mean generative AI. Markov Chains were long a thing. The technology is not new. What is new is the use of massive amounts of data and the attempt to use it to replace jobs through prompts instead of through careful design of a well-engineered automated solution. And AI is not going to do any jobs, not faster and not cheaper. And I know this because the other day MS. Yeah, that Microsoft, the copilot guys, released a report of the jobs that according to them are "the most at risk of getting replaced by AI". First place was Translators, IIRC second place was web designers and third place were Historians. And NONE of these jobs can be replaced by AI. We all know for a fact Translators can't be replaced. Because you know what a Good Translation needs? Nuance. Knowledge of BOTH of the cultures the language is coming from. Nah, not knowledge. HUMAN Understanding of the cultures. And we know AI translation sucks as. Look no further than the Silksong issue. And we have Historians. Which being listed there at all showcases just how little these researchers know of what Historians do. You know what chatGPT will never be able to answer? A question to a historical question of which there has been no data acquired. You know who acquire such data? Historians. I understand the good intentions of this video but I cannot let this misinformation move an inch without saying this out loud. Just take a look at what's happening to Translators. This is not AI replacing jobs because it can do them faster/cheaper. AI sucks at those jobs. This is a case of Greedy Capitalists destroying jobs out of greed, sheer ignorance and massive resentment towards the working class. The result is not more efficiency, but less efficiency and worse, much worse results. And it is happening everywhere. And it is wrong everywhere. And it is not inevitable.
