As our summer–fall walking schedule wraps up, it’s time to share an update on our progress walking all the residential streets in 204 #Calgary communities.

With winter approaching, we’re adjusting our schedule—shorter walks, often through Calgary’s emerging neighborhoods.

All other measures likely differ from Calgary’s averages because of how new the community is and its ongoing evolution.

The land on which Carrington is built was annexed in two phases: south of 144 Avenue in 1989, and north of 144 Avenue in 2007

Construction began in 2017, and the community remains under development today.

At the 2021 census, #Carrington had a population of 2,750.

Yesterday, we completed walking all of the publicly accessible, occupied residential streets in #Carrington.

In the process, we covered a distance of 21.74 kilometres.

This marks the 179th #Calgary community that we have now completed.

Recently completed homes on Carringford Way NW Construction on Carrington Blvd north of 148 Avenue Carringwood Manor, Street and Grove just sort of come to a dead end. This morning we moved up to the extension of Nose Hill on the east side of Edgemont for a quick walk.

With a windchill of -22, it was the coldest walk we've had since last February.
