The next 24 months you are going to see mandatory RTO (return to office) schemes as a pretext for voluntary redundancies in tech.

Workers will vote with their feet and then find their previous roles have become fully automated.

There will be no social safety nets or UBI in place for these people.

That's it precisely - I started my first corporate job in one of the Big Four Real Estate firms in July '08, right before Lehman Bros. collapsed. We went from 160 to 90 staff in the first two weeks; I spent all of my 20's working.

Turning 40 in Jan. If I have a kid I will count myself v fortunate.
