Self-taught developer. I make a handheld CRM called RangerCRM. It's pretty underground. You probably haven't heard about it.

Ok-ish: #Swift, #iOS, #SwiftUI, #CoreData, #CloudKit, #Concurrency, #MapKit, #Charts

Pretty sure companies aren't lining up to build manufacturing plants when they're subject to the daily whims of a 78 year-old man with zero scruples.

It's a small thing, but getting a system of custom defined fields to function properly users, was surprisingly challenging. I'm sure there are other ways to make that happen, but I like the way that aged me the most and added to my grey-hairs. #swiftUI, #swift, #Xcode

I was raised by Canadians, and as a result, I will apologize to inanimate objects when I bump into them. So I can say that, without a doubt, if you’ve en masse pissed off Canadians, you’ve done something profoundly, deeply wrong.

It took me a while, but I was finally able to get the doughnut chart (SectorMark) to a place I'm happy with.

Almost about to re-re-submit my handheld CRM app. I know a lot of folks would say "just release it as-is", but I needed to know I'd done the best work I could. A part of that work is making sure the CRM was as smooth as it could be for its users. Here goes nothing. #swift #Xcode #swiftUI

Almost at the point to re-re-release my app. It's taken me a while to get there, but I'm feeling good about it.

I think Canada should follow the lead the US is setting and appoint a random 19-year-old as the Fentanyl Czar.

Response: “Dad! No politics!”
Me (under my breath): “for now…”

You should know: The new #MapKit api from Apple seems to add its own NavBar to apps. Might not be a huge issue for some, but it in RangerCRM it was over-riding a custom parent-view. Not Great.

So here's a fix.

I don't know much about @fatbobman.bsky.socialI, other than he has an adorable cat, but his articles have *consistently* helped me out of my swift issues. And these *are* issues that are challenging. Very thorough, well put together, and easy to read.

You Should Know: You can use the #swiftUI .contentTransition modifier with its .numericText transition type, to also apply that effect to a string value.
