So, the high speed trains would continue to go across the CPKC Belleville Subdivision and through the yard at Smiths Falls, as VIA presently does? Or would you propose a bridge or tunnel to avoid that obstacle?

I live in Kingston and take the train to Toronto and Ottawa all the time. I am directly affected by whatever happens with High Speed Rail. I also think that it won't happen at all if they can't solve all aspects of the route problem, including where the Toronto and Montreal stations are located.

So your suggestion is that, instead of going via Peterborough, a new High Speed Rail line should essentially run parallel to the existing CN line between Kingston and Toronto? Would this proposal by-pass Ottawa or build a new line from Ottawa to Kingston?

I'm one of those people. The problem is that we're too spread out for HSR to make sense. What we need is better conventional speed regional rail service. Basically, what VIA provides right now with a bit more frequency and a lot less interference from CN freight trains.

They don't even really want to serve Peterborough. The goal is to provide as fast a trip as possible between Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. Intermediate stops slow things down.

That's weird because I always thought the only Somerset House in Toronto was at the corner of Church and Carlton.

The peak was sometime in 2008 or 2009. Google was adding tools and services of incredible value through the mid to late aughts, including Google Reader (Oct 2005), News Archive Search (June 2006) and Street View (May 2007). They deprecated News Archives in 2010 and shut down Reader in 2013.

I have long been a Firefly person, and wrestled with how inseparable it is from Whedon as a creator as well as the Lost Cause allusions. But the worst thing about Firefly, from my POV, is that it built a world where Chinese culture was supposedly hugely important and barely cast any Chinese actors.
