I'm an Australian woman who would love to see the whole world a happier, safer place to live - devoid of wars, injustice, liars, crime, CC and cruelty to both humans and animals. Love & respect for all living creatures is the only way forward IMO.

Govt never been able to make Musk or Zuckerberg pay tax in Aust so perhaps a 'display or power' by limiting their reach - starting with kids (& as we now realise) adults too.
All my IT friends say they're not going to scan their face!

Your last point is the clincher - their understanding is limited, at best, and totally absent, at worst. I also think there’s a wilful ignorance involved, where they want to be seen to act, consequences be damned

Correct! Placing a toddler in childcare with multiple 'carers' for 90% of his/her waking hours must confuse them & can't be good for their sense of security/mental health.
+ a 2yo can't stand up against a 4yo bullying them over a toy etc.

The 24 hr bad news cycle doesn't help. Both parents forced to work = no real family time to relax & connect.
Parents stressed = kids stressed!

IMO we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the internet.
I've been on it for 30 yrs, had lots fun & a good run but when our Govt is stupid enough make us all scan our faces to be on SM (and soon everything else we do) I think it's time to quit.

IMO we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the internet.
I've been on it for 30 yrs, had lots fun & a good run but when our Govt is stupid enough make us all scan our faces to be on SM (and soon everything else we do) I think it's time to quit.

When ALP first elected we assumed they would have a big clean-out of Murdoch's mates.
But they didn't do so! Why?
Because they are terrified of Murdoch, his IPA and his 40 yr rein as dictator of Aust (& as now proven) world politics.
