The intro paragraph is based off of something I doing with SoT, where I have Malaya's journal entries as a point of framing.

I'm not going to give the game away on the framing device of SFoS, but the intros are all from Kayleigh's perspective.

Cute little thing I'm doing. SFoS will have all the chapters be named after songs, just like how the missions are in CB. The songs are all based off of music that I personally love, so judge me how you see fit.

We come from very different places. Not only just different worlds, but locations in general. I guess Scotland isn’t that far, but you moved to America not that long before we met and that’s a whole ocean. I remember the stories you told me of the city you moved to. It sounds both wonderful and terrifying, but the way you always talked about it made sense why you were so driven to return.

Starting with a battle with just Kayleigh also kinda helps illustrate what someone that's used to how fighting works should move, and the recruit she fights is new to this as well creating a dynamic that you can compare with her and Ody once we get there.

Really need to iron out things, but I had a lot of fun writing the battle scenes in S/W and really wished I could have done more with that.

The battle system in Cassette beasts has a lot of room for imagination. I want to try to write them more like a pokemon battle from the anime.

First pass of the first battle in SFoS. Not only did I want to kinda establish how fighting scenes will work, but I also wanted to kinda establish Kayleigh separately from the Player (aka Odetta)

The recruit seemed unused to the new body they could control, the dash they did forward seemed to stumble a little. Kayleigh could have taken advantage of that slip up, but instead she stayed put, allowing the trainee to take the first shot. The full body tackle didn’t really phase her too much, but it was a strong hit from someone with that little experience.
Brilliant, but you want to face Wallace right? Talking while transformed was a weird feeling. It felt like talking through a fan almost, and unsure if the recruit heard her. She conjured up a gust of wind, creating a barrier of air between her and her opponent. She would be remiss if she didn’t test the recruits knowledge over walls. That seemed to somewhat confound the recruit as well. They swung at the wall, their spear bouncing off the wall without an effect. She used the confusion as an opening, launching a sonic boom towards them.
The attack pinned them against the wall. Kayleigh charged after them, looking to follow up her attack. She saw the Squirey panic and close their eyes.

My current goal for SFoS is to finish the first part then throw it on AO3. I'm kinda just writing it for me to kinda prove to myself I can make a compelling character so like, hm.

Both of these titles are actually not set, but the chances of them changing is pretty low especially with SoT because I've been calling that fic that for like, two years now.

SFoS (Sky Full of Song)- The Cassette Beasts fanfic I'm working on. Focused on my OC and the partner cast (with a focus on Kayleigh.

SoT (Sky of Twilight)- Octopath 2 AU fic that swaps Malaya and Castti in the narrative. Yeah I'm still working on it.
