The worst work conversation is always when the coworker inevitably asks me about if I have kids. Generally I leave it at “No. We can’t.” Because I don’t want to get into the why. Then they always say “Well, you guys can always adopt.” Like it’s as easy as getting a dog from a shelter. Fuck off.

This is a great example of why standardized testing is a terrible idea. This person is afraid that people who aren’t disabled but would benefit from more time might abuse the system and become professionals who lack morals and that will make the world worse.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

There is a TTRPG that I love and wish I had been able to run by now, but it also contains the thing I can’t tolerate. In the core rulebook they have an adventure that is one of the best I’ve seen in a core rulebook. But it keeps mentioning how it’s the first in a campaign that was never published.

There have been four popes in my lifetime, Leo is the first one where every thing I learn about him makes me like him more. Don't get me wrong, there are massive systemic problems in Catholicism that he is not publicly fixing, but he is doing a lot of good in a very short time.
I think when I get back into streaming here in a bit over a month, I am going to start an actual play using Qin the Warring States. Its rules for a Xianxia game set in the 7 Warring States part of the Warring States Period.

I just spent over half an hour writing a thread about my thoughts on Link from Legend of Zelda, and honestly, at the end of it I just feel tired and spent. Link is now nothing but a deep well of sadness for me, sometimes its bitter sweet, most times its just sad.

I kind of feel like a reverse vampire with my job. Instead of needing an invitation to come in, if you want me to no longer attempt to communicate with you, you need to verbalize it. I’ve done this long enough to know when we both want me to stop, but you have to tell me. Thems the rules.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought recently about if my autism is a disability inherently or if it’s only a disability because of the social make up of the world we live in. Ultimately I come down on even if society was arranged in a way better fitting of me, it would still be a disability. 1/2

If JD Vance is a cunning politician, and then jury is still out on that one, he will wait until January 21st 2027 and then act to remove Trump from office. That way Vance can be president for just under 2 years and still be eligible for two terms as president.

Once again I am looking for something really niche and am turning to the crowd. Does anyone know of a good place/way to make a map in the style of a battle map circa first half of the 19th Century of a fictional place? Here is a rough example of what I mean.

I am in a bit of a pickle. I am not super happy with my current TTRPG feed here because it catches too many things that aren’t TTRPG related. But when I have asked for recommendations I’ve only gotten replies for TTRPG feeds that don’t include D&D, which is not what I’m looking for.

Throughout my teen years my aunt lived in Maine and getting to visit her was amazing. I’ve never minded the idea of living there. Right now I am glad I don’t. The upcoming Senate election is a decision I’m glad I don’t have to make. 1/2

Thinking about it, when I was about 18 months old, likely shortly before my autism “showed up”, I fell head first off a chair and into a toy. Luckily no one has ever blamed head trauma for my autism.

I’ve known a lot of Catholics who say the same as this “Buckley’s Chance” person, hell I’m related to some. According to the Catholic religion, they are indeed not Catholic anymore, they are heretics for disagreeing with the Pope, who is the Voice of God.

It always blows my mind when I see someone older than 25 or so who seems to not realize the movie Idiocracy is just straight up about eugenics. That is the main message of the film. It’s a cautionary warning of what will happen if the “wrong” people keep having more kids than the “right” people.
