Digital Driving Editor at The Times & Sunday Times, posting only online and in front of the paywall. Killed my Twxtter because of Elon, and feel conflicted about it. But here seems good.
Driving the new Toyota bZ4X today. It's classed as a facelift, coming just three years after the original, but it's a massive step up -- like a whole new generation. More range, better interior, better infotainment, better ADAS, improved ride. All based on customer feedback.

There was lots of talk about pay-per-mile road pricing at the SMMT annual dinner last night, but I couldn't believe it would happen. Mike Hawes, SMMT CEO, said it "better come with a receipt because it should go straight back to the shop on Boxing Day." Major disincentive for EVs. #Budget reactions

Just seen a post elsewhere about “luxury” cars to be taken off mobility scheme for those on benefits.

Doesn’t make sense to me, when many “luxury” cars can cost less to lease than their equivalent mainstream ones.

We found the little electric hot hatch’s natural environment: a twisty, 1,127-yard ribbon of ascending asphalt. EVs are dull? Think again

I'm on one of those big long cars with lots of seats that goes on rails. Quite good, actually. I reckon they could catch on.

"A car reviewing powerhouse." Not my words, Carol... Oh, actually they are.

Looking forward to reading this.

If you want to know how much some newspapers now rely on AI (because they're firing all the journalists), look no further. www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/...

The sub editors would have picked up on this. If there were any.
From the ChatGPT community on Reddit: They copied ChatGPT word-for-word and left the ending in. Wild.

Porsche sent me a 911 GT3 Touring with the rear seats fitted. Which means I had to try it with children.

I think this car is greatly improved by not having children in the back, tbh.

Sad news about Quentin Willson. I only met him a few times but we had a decent chat over a couple of drinks earlier this year. He was a strong voice for motoring in general, and an early EV advocate. He was so distinctive and memorable as a presenter. #RIP

My dad chatting to Colin Chapman, I'm told in 1973 at a non-championship round of the F1 season held at Brands Hatch (the Race of Champions, open also to F5000 cars -- one of which caused a stir by winning that year).

Just found my first ever car review. I must have been nine, and it was for a school weekend report. The day itself involved driving three electric ride-ons for a Classic Cars feature my dad put together. Think he had a framed copy at his house. Wonder if my stepmum still has it.
