Digital Driving Editor at The Times & Sunday Times, posting only online and in front of the paywall. Killed my Twxtter because of Elon, and feel conflicted about it. But here seems good.
Driving the new Toyota bZ4X today. It's classed as a facelift, coming just three years after the original, but it's a massive step up -- like a whole new generation. More range, better interior, better infotainment, better ADAS, improved ride. All based on customer feedback.

More of Mike Hawes' message to the Chancellor Rachel Reeves and the UK Government on per-per-mile road pricing.

There was lots of talk about pay-per-mile road pricing at the SMMT annual dinner last night, but I couldn't believe it would happen. Mike Hawes, SMMT CEO, said it "better come with a receipt because it should go straight back to the shop on Boxing Day." Major disincentive for EVs. #Budget reactions

I'm on one of those big long cars with lots of seats that goes on rails. Quite good, actually. I reckon they could catch on.

"A car reviewing powerhouse." Not my words, Carol... Oh, actually they are.

Looking forward to reading this.

Ooh, a debadged one, @sniffpetrol.com. I wonder if this is an option in the configurator. #discerning

Today I'm pretending to be a video presenter.

Porsche sent me a 911 GT3 Touring with the rear seats fitted. Which means I had to try it with children.

I think this car is greatly improved by not having children in the back, tbh.

Plaything for a week.

That noise is... you tell me. I can say it's loud.

Bit of slow-mo.

Anyone for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N drift mode?

Today. What car am I driving?

My dad chatting to Colin Chapman, I'm told in 1973 at a non-championship round of the F1 season held at Brands Hatch (the Race of Champions, open also to F5000 cars -- one of which caused a stir by winning that year).

Pic sent to me without a photo credit so apologies if you own the rights.

Just found my first ever car review. I must have been nine, and it was for a school weekend report. The day itself involved driving three electric ride-ons for a Classic Cars feature my dad put together. Think he had a framed copy at his house. Wonder if my stepmum still has it.

And this is the typical contents of a facelifted L322 boot, I take it?

Just got up close with the Lamborghini Fenomeno, which means phenomenal in Italian, and freak in Spanish (according to Google, not Lamborghini). It's the Revuelto made more extreme, hinting at future design and tech. Just 30 being made, one of which Lambo keeps.

I noticed Alan Partridge now drives a used Range Rover. Strong choice.

A Range Rover genius will be able to tell me which one exactly. L322?

It was no laughing matter, I can assure you.

It might be your Uber drivers not being able to start and stop smoothly with EV regen -- with some people the accelerator is either floored or off completely (what I call having a digital right foot). But I don't think this is helping, Ms Chayne.

And they've also just brought out the new BMW i3, which this time is an electric version of the 3 Series. It will come as part of 40 new models by 2027 as part of Neue Klasse.

BMW iX3 just revealed in Munich. Headline is 500 miles of range (WLTP), but it introduces new tech and a new design era: the return of Neue Klasse.
