Oh ffs. If anyone thinks the private health system provides all the services that the public system does, or that having to negotiate with your insurance company to get ANY service is a better alternative, I have a bridge to sell you.

There’s nothing organised or strategic about the staffing cuts within Health NZ. They’re just slashing staff, hoping to figure out what work it’s possible to keep doing later.

In less horrible bird news. Just wanted to share a couple of pictures of the little manu who stole my heart and unexpectedly turned me into a “bird person”. We hand raised Walnut after finding her on the road as a teeny featherless chick & being unable to find the nest she came from.

My husband found a little bird covered in glue in the Queensgate mall carpark & took it down to the Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust. Unfortunately they already had a whole flock of swallows covered in glue, found at the same carpark. Half of them had already died bc their beaks were glued shut.
