Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

It’s not a “Welcome to the Resistance” thing. It’s actually kind of what politics should be. Horse-trading and flexibility based on personal experience. Would I vote for him? Nope. Am I glad he’s doing this? Yes.

Similarly, the response to the Indiana state senator upset about Trump using the r-word. “He’s only doing it because of his daughter! They’re still all evil!” Perhaps, but take the W gracefully. You don’t have to support that guy, but if this scheme goes down by one vote it’s because of him.

Not universally, of course, but the prevailing attitude seems to be one of intense hatred of those who left. This is true of a lot of rural areas as well.
