Yep. It’s that way in Scandinavia and all the EU countries I’ve visited. I still occasionally slip up when giving directions and tell people I’m on the wrong floor.

I taught sociology of gender at TAMU about 15 years ago. I had some conservative students but I’m guessing the more difficult ones self-selected into Texas history (where they were unpleasantly surprised) or just silently grumbled. I worry about my remaining colleagues.

The basic finding was that dietary quality was low regardless of income! Well off people also eat crap!

We published a study that more or less made this observation at USDA ages ago. There were statistically significant findings across socioeconomic groups but the differences in dietary quality were so small that they were of little practical-clinical significance.

I remember this as an anti discrimination rule. In guessing it must have been revised but I’m not sure. This measure certainly contradicts the naively optimistic claim of earlier Republican ideologies that food poverty could be solved through charity.
