It's Mike. I wish I only talked about tabletop games, writing, and comic books (and tea), but politics keep happening. I like He/Him, and I like She/Her, and I don't like Twitter anymore.
You barely have to try anymore. I saw a whole family just pull McDonald's bags out of backpacks for How to Train Your Dragon 2.

I just assumed that was an innocuous euphemism for Star Trek (which I have to assume is where it originated) for so long

Now, the kids insist it's whatever shit will piss someone off

Very strange

I understand the impetus to be like "In the New Order, all cool good things will be accessible for free," but that's in like some future no one has successfully planned and is nowhere close to happening.

We have to live Here. In the place we currently live.

I still perceive buying food at the theater as this extravagant luxury, anyway

Yeah, this is like a very important thing to realize about the Current Shit. They think government controls culture.

too many of us have built ourselves a mind prison. we torment ourselves because, on a deep level, that certainty of doom is more comforting than the uncertainty of struggle. and plus it gives you the thrill of feeling more righteous, more cynical, more knowing--even as you scare yourself sleepless.

I stand by the first version of a Season 4.

The remix made it way worse.

And 5 was so bad, I never watched the end.

Yeah, I don't think Ron is particularly concerned with this thread

It's a good-enough extra-long episode of an anthology show they never made where you see all the OG characters' backstories exactly once

He has some of the wildest swings from high to low points in direction history

Yeah but Ron gave us Da Vinc ...

I mean, Ron gave us Andy Griff ...

...

Look, I still like Happy Days

And they rebooted Tiny Toons, although that's been cancelled already.

A few weeks ago, someone told me plaintively, "You're not getting any younger," and then guessed I was five years younger

Which like, should have been fine, except the implication was that I was already too old to function as of five years ago

Fuck an age, y'know?

I feel like I draw boxes to put things in, which is too much for most of my IRL friends, but then a lot of people On Here draw fences and jail cells and barbed wire.

I feel like some type of outlier in that I largely *do* see the world in uncompromising black-and-white tbh, with not a lot of room for grey -- but the lines I draw in that context aren't anywhere near the ones I see from hardliners On Here.
