35 mostly straight leftist dude, this is my fun account. A bit of a freak and a scientist, deeply anti-capitalist, anti-genocide, pro choice, pro environment.

This is an account for me to vent my perversions and anger towards a broken system

Get weird

Exactly. People go around driving cars and riding in airplanes because they trust the experts who made them. Not everyone can be an expert on everything. The demonizing of expertise is dangerous.
It's often presented as a kind of conformity or groupthink to "trust the experts," but you do in fact need to do this to have a functioning society!

What is the alternative? Every person researches every single issue of public concern themselves?
Scientific insiders hold power for a reason. Cause they know shit. The idea that there is something wrong with our best and brightest holding power is how we get idiots who run our country into the ground. Absurd

Evasion of peer review is a hallmark of pseudoscience.

But even more insidious is the obviation of scientific scrutiny by publishing in pseudoscientific journals that exist to provide an illusion of scientific legitimacy.

There’s nothing new about MAHA’s propaganda tactics.

Breaking News: The Trump administration dismissed all the scientists working on the government’s premiere report on the effects of climate change in the U.S.
National Climate Assessment Authors Are Dismissed by Trump Administration
The Trump administration told researchers it was “releasing” them from their roles. It puts the future of the assessment, which is required by Congress, in doubt.

This reality we find ourselves in is not logical.

The rich were already obscenely wealthy back when the US was #1 in the world in living standards in 1970.

They still chose to ruin our quality of life and tear our society apart just so they could have a little bit more.

Greed is a pathology.

1/Unless you have genuinely had, and I mean out of necessity for you or your kids to eat and not the "my company won't profit as much" or "I won't be able to afford a second trip" kind of necessity, to work a job or face homelessness and starvation. If you have had the option to take a few months

For profit should never be associated with:

Housing, food, medicine, and education

"Tax the rich" we say and a bunch of poor people rise up to defend the rich because in their minds someday they might be rich and when they're rich, being poor means you're just lazy.

It's the same mindset I have when I play the lottery, I'm spending the money inside, even though I'll never have it
