A limited number of single nights tickets are available for $25 at www.whitewatertavern.com Over the last two decades Cory Branan has released five albums to much critical acclaim from NPR, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone among others, who called him, “A country boy with a punk-rock heart.” He has toured extensively, appearing on stages from Letterman and the Ryman to your town's shittiest punk bar. Branan’s songs have been covered by such artists as Frank Turner and Dashboard Confessional. He has also collaborated with the likes of Jason Isbell, Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!), and Craig Finn (The Hold Steady)who have been included as featured guests on previous records. Branan has even been mentioned in the Lucero song, “Tears Don’t Matter Much” with the lyrics, “Cory Branan’s got an evil streak, and a way with words that’ll bring you to your knees." Amy’s live performances are anything but predictable. She captivates her audiences and never fails to take them on a memorable journey. Her performances have been called hypnotic, mesmerizing and legendary. Her voice is unique and beautiful and she’s been honored by having been voted ‘Best Of Memphis’ on three separate occasions and been nominated many times. She will be joined by revered guitarist/vocalist Will Sexton, who launched his career when he still in grade school. Along with older brother Charlie, the San Antonio-born Sexton was a musical prodigy who eventually moved to Austin, coming of age in the city’s hothouse environment. Playing with iconic Lone Star figures such as Doug Sahm, Joe Ely, Roky Erickson and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he scored a major label deal while still in his teens fronting Will and The Kill.

Formed in the late '90s, alternative pop/rock quartet Ashtray Babyhead plays radio-friendly punk-pop tunes along the same lines as Weezer and the Get-Up Kids.
This Saturday night, November 29th 💥 Big rock show w/ Ashtray Babyhead & The Easys * 8pm * $10 bucks Formed in the late '90s, alternative pop/rock quartet Ashtray Babyhead plays radio-friendly punk-pop tunes along the same lines as Weezer and the Get-Up Kids. With the help of producer Barry Poynter (the Adventures of Jet, Zao, the Juliana Theory), they recorded the punk-pop fueled O-Rama, distributed by Valmar Records in 1997. Their subsequent independent tours led to shows at the CMJ and ASCAP showcases in New York City, Nashville, and SXSW in Austin. In the spring of 2000, Ashtray Babyhead returned to the studio to record their sophomore album Radio, a shift to a more pop-oriented version of their brand of rock & roll. After touring the West Coast, the band (Scott Cook, Jeff Matika, Ryan Scott, and Josh Faulkner) secured a contract from Glue Factory Records, which released their second album in October 2000. ~ Zac Johnson, Rovi How exactly does The Easys stand out from the rest of Isaac Alexander’s material? In his own words, the band is his outlet for “catchy songs” and “pop-centric” material in the vein of Squeeze, Big Star and Elvis Costello. The group is also unique because Alexander shares songwriting duties with keyboard player and backup vocalist Rob Bell.

Funkanites are an eight-piece Little Rock Arkansas-based Afrobeat, Soul, and Funk ensemble. They are quite capable of handling any genre thrown at them, however, their focus is heavily on late 60’s and 70’s Afrobeat, Soul, and Funk with a contemporary spin on the genres. Big bombastic horn lines are the norm, as well as an airtight rhythm section that stretches and sews the pocket but never leaves it. They are ambassadors of a music that is not so readily available in a live setting in this day and age. They will move you. Photograph my @rahhoward

Man, I was just revisiting some of my Morris Day and The Time favorites last weekend. The first time I saw them live still holds up as one of the funkiest shows I've had the pleasure of attending. RIP Jellybean Johnson.

Tonight 💥 Karina Jo * Post-Apocalypstic * Birds With Teeth * 8pm * $10 Karina Jo (Hot Springs) Karina Jo writes lyrically driven songs to dive into the melancholy. Pop, piano & electric come together for a series of stories. Birds with Teeth (Little Rock) Birds With Teeth is an indie rock band with influences from bluegrass, to jazz, to early 2000s pop punk. The band consists of Tai Nishuichi on guitar and vocals, Stephen Sivils on keys, Max Campbell on bass, and JB Ross on drums. Post-Apocalypstic (Little Rock) Performing for the first time together, Post-Apocalypstic is a wiggle and a jiggle. Formerly Lusterfvck, they regrouped with new faces and sounds like folks who like showtunes, blues, indie rock, big band, and punk all got together to see what happens. Members consist of Rod Mallard on drums, Jamie Joheim on trumpet, Jesse Knight on clarinet, Cass Andrus on bass, and Ren Gudino on guitar and vocals.
