Brilliant day yesterday - a Parkrun then caught up with pals I hadn't seen for a while in Todmorden. After that it was off to Hebden Bridge to see Patrick Fitzgerald (ex-Kitchens of Distinction) play a wonderful set of old and new tunes at @thetradesclub.bsky.social which absolutely blew me away.

We had a German teacher called Mrs Cunningham at our comprehensive school. She was a massive Paul McCartney fan and for one lesson we had to translate No More Lonely Nights. It seems like the lamest thing ever at the time. But I just pulled out the 7 ", played it and welled up because it's a TUNE.

Playing a selection of Soft Cell records tonight as a little tribute - I remember liking this at the time but it became more personal once I was a student at Poly. There actually were clothes and records on the floor now I wasn't living at home. And looking outside my window view was fairly grim.
