Helping motherhood survive UK family courts. Holistic approach to litigation & preparation. Trauma informed recovery & identity post court
They’re selling this as saving victims from hostile hearings. But what happens when rushed decisions ignore abuse, dismiss evidence and risk children’s safety?

We’re calling this what it is: a PR stunt that risks serious miscarriages of justice.

But here’s the reality 👇
🔹 Cases being rushed through at the cost of due process
🔹 More magistrates (not trained judges) deciding life-altering cases
🔹 Skipping fact-findings, ignoring key evidence and prioritising speed over justice

In 2011-12, there were 4,257 legal aid providers. By 2018, that number had dropped by 34%.
In 2023/24, there were 1,320 civil legal aid providers. By October 2024, that number fell again to 1,236.

So why was this not done in this case and so many others? Women are dying whilst the people trusted with upholding the law and protecting the public cannot even follow simple guidance! When the man who has previously beaten someone with a rolling pin threatens to kill them, believe him!

“Proactive enquiries [should be made] into the suspect’s previous criminal behaviour, or intelligence reports relating to DA [domestic abuse] incidents (even if they concern a different victim) should be obtained.”
December 12, 2024 at 4:42 PM
CPS guidance states “look at the wider pattern of behaviours and not focus solely on the incident before them.
This should include considering any bad character evidence, including any previous incidents against others, patterns of behaviour such as: previous call outs, reports by the same victim...

Despite clear evidence of coercion, physical violence and death threats, prosecutors determined the “charging test” hadn’t been met. It appears the justice system only recognised the seriousness of the threat when it was too late - when Tiffany had already been murdered.
December 12, 2024 at 4:42 PM
CPS’s pathetic response was that “the necessary legal charging test was not met”

This is far from an isolated incident. Tiffany’s case is the latest in the systemattic failure, where the threshold for intervention is impossibly high.

Tiffany told police “I can’t sleep or eat because I’m worried about what can happen. I can’t go to sleep because I’m scared he will turn up or one of his friends will turn up” following numerous physical assaults, including with weapons and death threats.

This was the CPS response when their decision to NOT prosecute Paul Irwin after he breached the non-molestation order and Tiffany Render begged the police for help, led to her being brutally murdered 17 days later.
December 12, 2024 at 4:42 PM
“A previous request by police to charge Paul Irwin prior to the murder was declined by CPS because at the time it was believed further evidence was needed. We have since conducted an internal review which concluded that decision was wrong”

Join us in rejecting this damaging narrative and amplifying the voices of those who have been silenced for far too long. Enough is enough.

The defense of one’s actions should never rely on attacking the credibility of others, let alone entire groups based on their age, class, or identity. We believe in a society where every woman feels safe, heard, and respected—regardless of who they are or the platforms their abusers may hold.
December 1, 2024 at 2:09 PM
We extend our unwavering support to every woman who has been dismissed, belittled, or gaslit for speaking her truth. This behavior must not be tolerated, and it’s time for real accountability.

Survivors are forced to navigate a system that was never designed to protect them, while their abusers face no real consequences.

Silence around this issue is deafening. Family courts are where countless women lose their safety, their voices, and their ability to protect their children from harm.

Unlike criminal courts, family courts lack public oversight or accountability. Perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse often escape real scrutiny, even when serious allegations like rape or battery are upheld in fact-findings. Shockingly, those findings don’t result in charges or justice.
