I ended up going back to wired mices, feels easier on the wrist without the weight of a battery despite cranking sensibility super high (e.g. 1cm goes across two screens, only the fingers move)

I suspect budget wasn't the only reason some of those got cut (especially the big dialogs after The Reveal).
