Simple living, books, gardening, coffee, magic. Matriarchist. I'm probably cursing and dreaming of moss. Yearning for a Matriatic & Egalitarian Matrilineal society.

Still the Queen of Typos 👑
Added these to my I'll do it myself library. Me and thriftbooks are basically dating now.

Things I'm loving: flameless votives in old candle jars & outdoor light covers to create a relaxing and warm reading environment. 💜

Check your grocery stores. This was 4.99 at mine (Publix) and is covered by EBT. Check with your stores because not all stores are authorized for all EBT eligible items.

In my search for the list of professions that beginning 2026 are expected to be relabeled as non-professional, this is what I could find. Apparently there are more that they're still debating on but this seems to be the current shortlist.

So Starbucks really wanted you to pay $29.99 for a glass bear with their logo on it so you can continue to advertise for them even though you just paid $30 for a fucking glass. I'll stick with my bear filled with honey thank you very much.

Thrift stores and online small business thrift shops are my favorite places especially during holidays.

Still disconnecting from technology so I got some little goodies to occupy myself when I'm not working.

New book because duh. Puzzles of all sorts. I wanted pocket size to take anywhere. Also mini puzzle is in fact itty-bitty. I think it's supposed to be postcard size when done.

Yeah, I'm sure like a lot of stuff cost depends on area. I usually get this. It's predominantly sunflower oil but there is enough olive to give you a light taste which is nice for dressings. $11.00 is the average cost here. I'm sure there are better oils but this works well.

Hurricane Melissa Update:
It's making its way across Cuba and should be clear by this afternoon. It's finally starting to pick up speed. It might be a Cat 2 as it makes its 3rd hit in the Bahamas.

FYI: Oui jar bamboo lids with silicone seals will fit on regular mouth jelly and pasta jars. These can be found on Etsy & Amazon as far as I know.

😟 It annoys me to no end when news folks don't count really count the storm as making landfall till the eye hits or when they phrase it that way. The storm has already made landfall as far as I'm concerned.

Winds are up to 180 mph now. Pressure 896 mb.

Well fuck. Hurricane Melissa did truly make it to a Cat 5 just off the coast of Jamaica it looks like. It's a lopsided storm and still moving slow as hell. This is horrific for Jamaica. 😟

Potato skins to be dehydrated, turned into powder for spice mixes, soups, etc. Potatoes shredded, soaked in water to collect potato starch, dehydrated for long-term storage to be used later after rehydration. Nothing goes to waste. Even the bad pieces of potato go in the compost to feed the soil.
