My son works as a window fitter,he tells me a lot of his fellow workers talk like this.He is quite politically switched on but says it is no point arguing they are convinced.

I am in my 60’s ,my politics are generally left of centre I am no neo liberal but I do apply a level of reality that experience allows.You can have your aspirations,I keep my feet on the ground.Change comes slowly if and when we can do it.

I hate to be the purveyor of doom ,but the public finances had a gaping hole in them.The country’s credit card was maxed out ,just saying tax the wealthy is simplistic in the extreme.Most of what you are suggesting they are doing but obviously not quick fixes enough for you.
