Giving your orc guy more shoulders in contrast or even a more pronounced gut would set him apart. I never saw the similarities until you pointed them out. The square and angular look is common for masculine characters across the board as they are more masculine features.

part of those similarities comes from Mignolias style which tends to have those angular and square features. Yours I think tends for more round and "soft" features while still staying very masculine. Hellboy is a very masculine looking character, very much a "brawler" type with how he looks.

if you're still looking for answers, I've always liked more crunchy systems with either weird flavorful magics or that are modular so I can make my own. Bonus points for both. Ars Magica might be the most extreme example of this
