Folks, they're trying to sneak another one past us. Call your representatives, regardless of whether they are in favor of this or not. If you are worried about who to call or what to say.

Congress is attempting to fast track KOSA and more than a dozen bills that would restrict internet access, censor speech and increase surveillance under the guise of protecting children.

Committee hearings begin tomorrow.
Lawmakers to consider 19 bills for childproofing the internet
KOSA is back, along with more than a dozen other bills that will erode free speech and privacy in the name of protecting kids.

i wanna say i’m surprised they aren’t doing well but honestly it makes sense. doesn’t really feel like they’ve put out anything that’s gained any traction since shovel knight and that game is def a “everybody who‘ll ever want this already bought it years ago” type of thing
NEW: Yacht Club Games needs a hit. In recent years the maker of Shovel Knight has had to lay off staff, pause a 3D project, and delay their next game indefinitely.

The good news is that Mina the Hollower could be special. For Businessweek, this is their story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Creator of Hit Game Shovel Knight Is at a ‘Make or Break’ Moment
Yacht Club Games needs its next title, Mina the Hollower, to be a success.

its funny how some stuff in alan wake 2 feels like just remedy p. much going “if copyright law wasn’t a thing/certain deals weren’t made we woulda made quantum break 2 by now”

i’ll never understand why anti-aliasing and upscaling methods that completely fall apart in motion became so common in games tbh, it’s ugly as hell
i don’t play games to take screenshots bro
December 1, 2025 at 5:52 PM
i can’t get behind people saying alan wake 1 plays better than 2 at ALL lmao
2 has its issues but 1 has a WOAT-ass dodge while having relentless fucking enemy spawns that really feel like remedy was either scared of having more quiet moments or a microsoft exec was demanding they have more combat

it’s horseshit how sony was allowed to acquire funi & crunchyroll so they own like 90% of anime distribution in the us and now the latter’s fucking w/ ai slop subs while amazon’s doing ai dubs.
it’s morally correct to buy ur anime from discotek and pirate everything else

gonna be crazy when that max payne remake remedy’s making plays worse than the originals lol

i still think square enix & namco being hellbent on never re-releasing xenogears/xenosaga respectively has to do w/ xenoblade arguably being the more popular xeno than either
they ain’t touching them unless nintendo pays for it & they get to lean on that xenoblade association in their marketing

ngl the switch 2 being fairly above ps4 tier specs-wise has me thinking ppl should def get used to the likelihood nintendo’s software output is gonna be slower going forward, they aren’t immune to the increase in dev time generational scope/fidelity leaps tends to add

Nov 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Reps privately push ban on trans care in ACA/Obamacare as part of moving any subsidy deal forward. It was stripped from the last ACA deal. This one would hurt perhaps 500k trans ppl among the 20m who need Obamacare subsidies. Even blue states would be impacted.

The proposal, which was first detailed in the Wall Street Journal, could harm transgender people even in blue states if it becomes part of the negotiated deal.

something i’ll hear ppl say about valve having a monopoly w/ steam is that at least they didn’t get to that point unethically and like i mean
it’s not as bad as tearing down competitors but steam blowing up started with them going “fuck you install our launcher if you wanna play half-life 2” lol

i feel like modern console games having graphics & performance modes with the former arbitrarily being hard locked at 30 fps is one of those things that’s gonna age like ass with every successive gen/midgen refresh until somebody realizes frame rate caps should really be a separate toggle

Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season

kinda feels like there’s a throughline between “nintendo starts doing directs to centralize their marketing while avoiding E3 gaffes” to “game journalism has massively declined while everybody does their own direct and the only event ppl give a shit about are the keighleys”
November 24, 2025 at 4:51 PM
genuinely starting to feel like the major platform holders expanding their shit into miiverse-like networks would be the best solution to all this lol
elon fucking killed a major piece of not only driving game discussion, but also sheer inherent word-of-mouth advertising. it has no doubt kneecapped many small- and mid-sized titles and i can't even tell what big games are popping off right now unless they have a Little Guy people wanna doodle
In a post-Share button world, it's been very hard to tell what games are actually hitting. It takes effort to post clips or fan art.

That new Digimon game has some fan art.
Death Stranding 2? Very few clips
Yotei? A little here
Kirby? You would think it's the biggest game in the world right now

mgs4 def got fucked over super hard by early HD gamedev woes lol
outside of its cutscenes the whole thing is underbaked
Replaying MGS4 and I'm yet again feeling the Psyche and Stress systems were majorly underbaked

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

extremely funny how nintendo’s solution for upping hidden mansion mode’s difficulty in the PAL ver. of luigi’s mansion included adding so many ghosts into certain rooms that sometimes their sfx peaks & clips out when they spawn in cus the engine can’t handle that many sound sources at once
