I’m sure Sean Duffy’s FAA will be right on it. No need to worry.

So weird!

The replacement heater came with a remote and apparently uses the same IR code as the sound bar, except volume down = pwr on/pwr off! I was delighted to find the answer to the beeping sound bar, but I have no solution for the heater. I suggested they return it because it interferes with the TV.
November 28, 2025 at 5:55 AM
I went to adjust the volume on the sound bar myself and noticed that while facing the TV and sound bar and trying to lower the volume, the loud beeping was coming from behind me. I continued pressing the button and noticed that they had a new heater that was turning on and off when I pressed (-)!

The sound bar has been doing something weird: when you turn down the volume with the remote, it has started making a loud beeping noise. So strange, and no explanation for it. We watched the end of the Lions game and then had dinner. Afterwards the Cowboys game was on but someone had muted it.

We advised we could look at it on Thanksgiving or he could try power cycling it or do a factory reset if he still had the manual. Later that night he updated us that the factory reset worked and they’re back up and running. Upon arriving today FIL informed me that since the factory reset

Here’s where the real story starts. A few days ago the FIL calls in a panic. The quartz heater tripped the circuit breaker again (for the last time) and the TV sound bar stopped working. MIL had to watch Wheel of Fortune in the bedroom in a strait back chair and it’s a PROBLEM.
November 28, 2025 at 5:55 AM
Well, today I found out. The old quartz heater was plugged into an Amazon Basics surge protector and the whole thing had melted. Both sides of the SP were blackened. It said it was rated for 15A, but clearly it wasn’t. FIL found that and took it and the old quartz heater out of service immediately.

I wasn’t sure, but I know they have a lot of lights and things plugged in, but when they told me they had two space heaters plugged into a single circuit I was immediately suspicious. “It’s probably too big of a load.” I said. Maybe the window seals are going and the heaters are working harder.
November 28, 2025 at 5:55 AM
About a month ago they started running the heaters again for the season, but this time they started having problems with the circuit breaker for the cabin tripping. Of course, they came to me with the question. Why would it start tripping?
November 28, 2025 at 5:55 AM
One problem they have is that with all the windows it’s hard to heat. They have a faux electric fireplace that’s mostly for light but it does put off some heat. They also had an old quartz heater they used for additional heating.
