Claypool was a professor & friend of mine. He echoed the same experiences I had growing up of acceptance & affirmation in the Episcopal church. I know of many people that have church homes in the Episcopal church after issues with other denominations.

John Claypool was an SBC pastor in Atlanta in the 60’s. His daughter died of leukemia & the grief led his wife to divorce him. From this, he was not allowed to preach. He found acceptance in the Episcopal church, eventually becoming a priest & writing/preaching on grief.

If you’re wanting to know the theological differences, many Episcopal churches have classes that go over their beliefs. I found that they are about the least pushy of denominations. I would always recommend someone try out the Episcopal church if they never have before.

I grew up Episcopal but later became (moderate) Baptist. Episcopal church uses the Book of Common Prayer, with lots of responsive readings & group prayers. While different, it’s basically the same thing every week & you pick up the routine quickly. It switches between standing, sitting, & kneeling.

This would garner many votes from moms/caregivers. I’d totally support it.
However, in many schools, these types of events are pushed by the parents leading groups like the PTA in conjunction with the school administrators. They often do it out of selfish desire, not focusing on the kids needs.

Same. I found a community online (though I’ve never been actively engaged), through listening to the stories of people going through many of the same feelings & experiences. Being a vocational minister in the past but leaving for various reasons, I found those I resonate with there & here.

We sold our house & rented for a year before buying again, the the rental didn’t have storage for our tree. We put it up in Oct. & decorated it for each upcoming holiday. Honestly, I liked it up.

So no, this is not about politics. This is about caring enough to stand for the ideas & beliefs you taught me. To protect your grandkids at all costs. To provide a safe world for them to live in, protecting the air, the earth, & the water. This is about giving a damn and protecting their future.

So by not rejecting Trump & his followers, you are therefore rejecting me, and what I stand for. The 2 cannot coexist. Tolerance cannot allow the intolerance of the right wing to keep pushing forward, the tolerance of others out.
