I've definitely made some money from it but nowhere near enough to make even close to a living. Also yeah typo I don't know why I said 17k when I have 30k lol

So...yeah I did my best with gamedev content but it's just not for me and I made a big decision with this change. Still worried about if it will work but I'm just going to do what makes me happy and what I'm passionate about. Thanks for reading!

I'll still be doing game development just in the way I prefer, with a nice YouTube video on silently. I find it so relaxing and nice to work in peace and I'll post updates on Gelli Fields on my Fairlii More channel and on Kickstarter. This is perfect for me and actually allows me to get more done.

So what is next?

Me truly embracing what I love most. Video games. I love video games and am so fascinated by weird, niche, and obscure ones. So I'll be streaming ones I find but also playing games I enjoy too! But what about gamedev?

So yesterday I recorded a video describing how I felt and hit upload. People were... understanding of my situation and reassured me that it's okay for me to switch content. Their kind words have filled me with so much confidence for what's next.

So for the last few years I've bounced around trying to do different schedules, formats, video length, anything but none of it truly stuck. And it's hard to develop a game and create consistent content by yourself. It's been a true struggle. Especially when it doesn't provide financially.

To clarify I have always loved and still continue to love developing games. It's just the additional part where I need to make content about it that I've struggled with. I never found my identity with it and every attempt at changing the content just didn't feel right.

So I started making videos on game development years ago and it took off instantly. I was getting 10's of thousands of views on my content....so I kept doing it. And I continued doing it until the views dropped off significantly. That was when I realized I only liked it because it worked.

I think there's a certain spirit to those games and they don't want to ruin the identity of the core gameplay by adding depth to a game that doesn't exactly need it, which is also why it never works. You don't need to add depth to everything, some stuff is best kept simple in my opinion
