Kicking myself for taking a bus instead of the Severn Beach Line to start my journey. If I'd have taken the train, I could have gone from Montpelier to Montpellier.

Rolling hills have transitioned to mountains in the distance. We are slowing down as we approach Nimes after charging through the beet fields at 300 km/h. Even the on-train Syrah is delicious. My pictures are not worth sharing, but this is all just very, very nice.

Train 6: SNCF TGV Paris Gare de Lyon-Barcelona Sants. Upper deck and somewhat roomier than the Eurostar. I'd forgotten about the general chaos that is this station.

This'll be the first leg (well, apart from KX to Ally Pally 😂) that's totally new for me!

First up: Bristol Temple Meads, more am imposing station than a pleasant station. Nice to see the roof again after years hidden by scaffolding.
