to see with a staggering wonder, imagine that you live there. and, that you love it with all your heart. because it is your home. however small of a critter you’d need to be to feel this spot is heaven. don’t move until you see it. practice this often.

sounds like my summary is flawed… i would like to understand this more if you ever feel like making this part of your future content. it’s an important issue and i’m interested.
cheers ✌️

much because the disunity in your southern border will quickly spread to you all. just thought i’d share the thought as i greatly respect the work you have been doing to elevate issues that i wouldn’t have otherwise been aware of… keep up the good work!

that isn’t Carney’s primary concern… given the current admin, the fate of this pipeline is not high on the list of urgent concerns. I am very pro-nature, but this seems like a great piece of political work by canada… if this is even close to correct, then canada might not want to disparage carney

@charlieangus104.bsky.social This may be way off the mark, but this strikes me as a smart move by Carney because he gets progress on US tariffs and partially defuses the growing Alberta-BC rift while shifting the burden on making it hair to the US… which sucks for the US environmental concerns but

that and all the stoopid rule changes and i walked away as a fan several years ago and havent missed it one bit. plenty of other wonderful things to do on this planet than deal with a poorly run entity. good luck!

very cool! thx for sharing.
i especially like how the sea uses the fallen patriarch to create something that is her own creation… re-creation as a gift to the world…

the art of regifting is the way we move through the day ✌️

Hey you two might enjoy this series of posts about trees and how tree fungus changed the world so that vertebrates could replace gigantic insects. ✌️

I love them. they are the tallest/oldest beings we know. they inhabit an almost timeless realm where even death lasts longer than most other lives.

in a world focused on the fastest, these ancient sentinels build their sandcastles in the sky. always giving.
even as they disappear…

Trees release organic compounds through their roots (root exudates). These compounds include sugars, amino acids, and organic acids, which enhance the availability of nutrients and ions in the soil.
—Root exudates stimulate microbial activity in the soil (near the roots). This increased microbial activity can lead to the breakdown of organic matter and the release of additional nutrients and ions.
—The presence of tree roots improves soil structure by creating channels and spaces that enhance aeration and water infiltration. This can lead to better nutrient retention and availability.
—Trees contribute to the accumulation of organic matter through leaf litter and decaying roots. This organic matter can enhance the soil's cation exchange capacity (CEC), allowing it to hold more positively charged ions (cations) like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
—Trees can resonate with certain frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. The height and shape of a tree can influence its ability to absorb and respond to EM signals, similar to how antennas are designed to capture specific wavelengths.
—The conductive properties of water within the tree and the presence of ions in the sap can enhance the tree's ability to interact with EM fields (from solar and geomagnetic phenomena). Trees grow ‘into’ the EM field, its why they spiral. And why trees exposed to EM radiation from power lines exhibit changes in growth patterns, leaf morphology, and overall health (trees growing near high-voltage power lines showed differences in growth compared to those further away)
—The field of bioelectromagnetics explores the interactions between living organisms and electromagnetic fields. Research in this area has examined how plants can detect and respond to EM signals, including the potential for trees to act as bioindicators of environmental changes.

and especially like dancing with willows 🤓

i love hugging the trees when they are dancing in the winds. you can sometimes feel them sway! ✌️

Where life finds root upon the stone—
a seed grateful for driftwood's dust where the ancient cedar's journey ends in a final gift, upon a rock that knows only cold and sun.

The forest's slow, eternal breath turns all things to soil in faith of the seed and ever makes a new world from what was lost.
image of coastal zone between ocean and forest with exposed rock giving way to the forest where several large driftwood trees, that are bleached and battered, decompose into the future soil. poem inspired by #oliver #eiseley #thoreau

I respect your response here. The world needs the kind of mercy and kindness you displayed. That is a BIG way you can help… I suggest that people need to expand beyond focusing just on voting in elections and vote with every dollar. why do so many support the orgs that suppress them!?! 🤯

gorgeous picture ms. rebar! 😍

i chuckle when i see wild asparagus growing along fence lines where birds perch.
i wonder how birds see those red berries, since they have a fourth type of cone cell in the eye (beyond our three) that can see ultraviolet. #Tetrachromacy

...the accountability found in pet memoirs. The author suggests that these pet memoirs provide a bridge to help urban children build a closer connection, grounding the distant/mystical awe of the wild into their daily decisions and responsibility as they care for their pets.

Thanks @OrionMagazine!

Wildlife is down 70% since 1970. 💔 Is this a measure of how few are transformed by wonder? Urbanization means fewer children grow up close to nature. How much devastating loss stems from this imaginative/empathetic disconnect? This author shifts the focus to...

it boggles my mind how people support the businesses that suppress them…

the earth is an embarrassment of riches. the magic of a sunrise is all i really need…

the sound on this clip are the happy birds floating in these waters singing their praise for the new day. also several whales were breathing their massive breaths but i could never see them thru the morning mists.

I rarely post about current events, but sharing a quick thought about #FederalReserve #Inflation #USDollar #Economy #SCOTUS #Finance

if anyone wants more info, read this: www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/25...
The media is failing to cover the biggest financial threat of our lifetime. The political attack on the Federal Reserve’s independence—now before the Supreme Court—is not a boring policy debate. It's an existential threat to the dollar because it’s a precursor to the de facto default on the national debt.

When the firewall of the Fed’s independence falls, there is nothing left to anchor the fiat dollar to reality. Once global trust is broken, the dollar’s value will collapse. The cost of everything will soar, and life savings will plummet. The unrivaled privileges Americans enjoy because the dollar is the world's reserve currency will disappear. Compared to this, misguided tariff policies are a minor distraction.

Like it or not, guarding the Fed's independence isn't an obscure economic theory—it is the last line of defense protecting the U.S. dollar and the stability of your money.

Beautiful. I recently walked this park but missed this spot… i wonder if its in the area where dogs are not allowed..?
Thank you for sharing!

bella and me at our favorite spot on cortes.
man kneeling down to love on his dog who is nuzzling into him. the setting is beautiful. both are on a wide mountain rock that overlooks the ocean in 270 degrees with mountains in the distance across the bay.
