I am ABSOLUTELY a coffee snob, but I'm also willing to do heinous things occasionally. One of which is REUSING the grounds from my first cup for my second cup. I've found it's a way to make a weaker cup of coffee that doesn't make me jitter the rest of the day.

Jimmy Kimmel is cancelled for his mild political jokes about Trump and Charlie Kirk. Trump is calling for Fallon and Seth to go as well. He's going after the old networks one-by-one. It is only a matter of time until he tells Google to do something about the largest personalities on YouTube.

Car salesmen are so slimy.
I just walked out of a dealership after a man identifying himself as the manager tried to tell me that under no circumstances could they take a tax credit for selling a used EV. I just got up and left, and am now looking at the IRS website saying they can.

Happy Labor Day everyone. I hope you can enjoy a small piece of peace today.
As for myself, I
I'm grilling!

Here it is, sliced toasted and (homemade) buttered.
Less rise means less bubbles and air pockets in the bread, no surprise there. The cornmeal comes through in the flavor too, I can taste the extra sugars. The texture is where it's really different though. Turns out cornmeal is mealy.

Fresh out of the oven it didn't puff up much, if at all. Quite curious to find out how it tastes though, as cornmeal has some amount of natural sugars that neither wheat or rye flour has.
This is for breakfast though, so the first slice and taste will have to wait.

The first rise was roughly the same as a normal loaf of whole wheat. The second rise however was less impressive, even though I added vital wheat gluten to try and balance out how cornmeal doesn't have gluten.

The dough turned out a lot more sticky than I expected it to.

In my bread making adventures I have decided to try replacing a portion of flour with cornmeal. Will report back on the results.

Happy Canada Day

I'm amazed at how well this turned out. Replacing a portion of wheat flour with rye and adding proportional vital gluten really helped it puff up. Also the flavor is a lot more complex. I may stick with this for the foreseeable future.

IT'S TRYING TO ESCAPE CONTAINMENT! Hurry, get me the knife so I can slash it, then we'll throw it in the oven!

Always love when I can see at least ONE achievement that everyone got, even if it won't last forever.
June 17, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Remember this day, because after the eventual steam sales LOTS of people won't even have this bare minimum achievement.

Browsing #OblivionRemaster achievements and- yup just as boring as they were on the 360. Wish there was something for finding the dark corners of the world instead of just completing questlines...

The fabled Oblivion Remaster. Dunno if this is real or a convincing hoax, but it's got my attention! Supposedly it'll be a shadow release on April 21.

Learning Node compositing is not easy, and has pretty glaring limitations on ease of manipulation vs a layer system.
However, I concede that it's powerful in other ways. Here's hoping I get used to it in time.

Every time Kurt Russell shows up in a movie all Tev can say is "He's cute".
I am competing with a man who was the inspiration for SOLID FUCKING SNAKE!

The new monitors are each 3" smaller, so I've lost a total of 9" and I can feel it! Turns out size does matter. Also these displays aren't so big they spill over the edges of my desk like the old ones, which is nice. The stands are too short though, so I gotta go aftermarket to fix that.
March 13, 2025 at 10:08 PM
The old setup was amazing, as these babies are 30" each at 2k resolution. They've served me well for years but sadly they don't make them anymore. Which is why I have to replace everything now that a single one has died.
Also, yes, I am aware my desk is messy.
March 13, 2025 at 10:08 PM
Finally got my new monitors in. One of my old screens is basically dead, slashing my display real estate by 1/3 so I found some new 27" 4k models for cheap.

I decided to upgrade my webcam for streaming. I didn't know they could get that big!...
