It probably helps that I went with my oldest, the former baby who taught me how to be a mother, and who is now an adult living on the other side of the continent from me. That and my own awareness of aging can really make one susceptible to thinking about the cycles of life!!

I am also wrangling the start of another season of my beloved wealth-redistribution mutual aid group so we can send out money requests tomorrow to pay to recipients on Monday and while I'm happy to do the task, it is also driving me crazy in all the details to be managed (srs eldest daughter vibes)

for the first time ever I am having Thanksgiving at my oldest's! today we figured out a two-person menu, tonight we call the kid in Japan, tomorrow we go visit some redwoods, Thursday we cook and eat! It could possibly be the best time I've had around this holiday in years

they are both in cool places and they are both doing really well, so that helps a lot!

it is so hard!!!! I'm fine now (even though the oldest lives in CA and the youngest is studying abroad in Kyoto) but ow my heart at first!
