Dawnsire is also a fun and evil brawl commander, it turns out.

On June 7, 2024 the Junkies Air Force established a cube for the bottom one percent of its drafters. Its purpose was to troll the absolute idea of Magic and to ensure that the handful of players who 3-0'd were the sickest fools in the world. They were success-adjacent. Today, the Junkies call it Nonsense Camp. The flyers call it: DANGER ZONE

Incredible sandwich with chicken, hot peppers, and cheese. Dried coated with cheese and pepper dust. Tastes like Firenze.

To close out this event, I cringe-drafted my own Tresserhorn Gardens and had a terrific Time Sieve deck with Master of the Bridge. I never got to go to infinite turns, but had all the pieces. Both Tezzerets were sweet.

I got the trophy and took home a pin and apologize for nothing.
Tezzeret, Master of The Bridge has made Ugin, Scion of Storms a free spell. This opponent did not prevail.

For casual day 2, my first draft was of @thecubemiser.bsky.social ‘s synergy cube and I had what seemed like a fairly solid GBw enchantment deck for this format. I went 1-2 against Hogaak in some intensely close and intricate games and then won the next round before we broke to draft again.
Mostly golgari enchantress deck. Eidolon of Blossoms and Doomwake Giant made it good.

My final draft of the event itself was The Depleted Lands cubecobra.com/cube/overvie... which I was only sort-of equipped to do after two other drafts but I got a pestilence deck and a pretty good land base for this kind of desert cube. I won round one decisively and then lost two close ones.

I was shopping for Derpy and Sussy gear the second the credits started to roll.

East Bay Cubing Sunday at Sante Adairius. Last big draft of Tresserhorn Gardens before it’s featured at @capitolcube.org and @joe-cube-anderson.bsky.social’s California Cube Championship. I came close to overcoming generous plunderer, but it was not to be. I did get to go off with Tezzerets.

TRUTH. I clinched mine in the most WarrenFish way possible.
Magic the Gathering: Arena screenshot. We have earned the incredibly tilting “death by vanilla” achievement in a brawl deck with Yargle and Multani as the commander. This deck was awful and could only have creatures with no game text. We had to cast at least five creatures over the course of the game *and win* when none of those creatures had game text. I earned this yesterday, but the achievement was bugged. Anyway, to win the game through a burgeoning army of scute swarms with an 18/6 vanilla creature after casting a few other bonehead creatures who died, we have Akroma’s Memorial on the stack. Opposing player conceded seconds after this screenshot was taken.

Magic: the gathering Arena game of the brawl format. Hearthhull is our commander, but we have Icetill Explorer and Strip Mine so none of that matters. Our opponent has conceded, recognizing that they will not have any more lands this game. Another Arena Brawl scene shot. This time, we have fully stationed Hearthhull and then sacrificed all of our lands to God-Eternal Bontu to put lethal life loss on the stack for our opponent.

Huzzah! I’m glad I stayed to the end of the video! It took me numerous attempts to go infinite with Terra, and I was clicking furiously to get as many copies and triggers as I could into this screenshot before my opponent left. Worth it!

In this game, she has transformed to Esper Terra and The Apprentice’s Folly has made us a convenient non-legendary copy of said Esper Terra which in turn allows us to make an arbitrary additional number of copies and attack for lethal. We also have a crucial additional enchantment to break the loop. Opponent has been a saint to allow us to play out the combo for screenshot purposes before conceding.

A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place; to force them to acknowledge your greatness.
Magic the Gathering Arena screenshot. We are playing Brawl and my commander is world’s finest unicorn Emiel the blessed. Via Blessed Sanctuary, Rishkar Peema Renegade, and Angel of Grace, Emiel has brought us to a board state where my mono-green opponent cannot reduce my life total below 1. With llanowar emissary, I can also draw a bunch of cards every turn at an increasing rate because each new 4/4 unicorn token created when I flicker the angel or the emissary can tap for mana. My opponent has a horde of enormous ooze creatures, but has just reached the point of no return on their will to continue playing. Gul Dukat would approve.
