Authorities in Nepal imposed a sweeping ban on 26 social media platforms, from WhatsApp to YouTube, and violently suppressed youth-led protests against it.

Multiple protestors were killed, and hundreds were left injured. This cannot be normalized.

🚨 Italy has confirmed using Paragon’s spyware against humanitarian workers.

The Italian authorities’ invasive surveillance of civil society actors like Luca Casarini, Giuseppe Caccia, and David Yambio rings alarm bells regarding abuse of power.

A major win for privacy!

Israeli spyware company NSO has been ordered to pay almost $168 million in damages for targeting WhatsApp with Pegasus spyware. Access Now and partners will continue to advocate for NSO to be held accountable for its actions.
