Please be patient I have stupid
Special mention to the design from the The First movie, almost as good and clearly an inspiration

Genuinly one of the best character design I've ever seen

Evalua†ion

A spooky game about a survey where you get traumadumped by the devil.
It's alright, cool atmosphere but really short and barebone and getting all the endings is a chore.

Scream4

A "soft remake" toying with that trend before it escaped its containment in the horror genre.
Easily more well-rounded than its predecessor and maybe even the best-directed entry, but the shift to the 2010's isn't always graceful, and a bit of flavor has been lost

Scream 3

Somehow even more meta than the previous one, and way sharper in its commentary about horro movies and hollywood in general. Unfortunately it's way more clumsy than its predecessor, and the line between satire and genuine mistake is starting blur...

Scream 2

If you thought the first one was too meta you're not ready for that one.
Funnier, more tense and way more ambitious than its predecessor, yet it feels just a bit less balanced, and I kinda miss its elegant simplicity

Scream (1996)

Probably would have enjoyed it more had I seen more old horror movies, but still had a great time.
The goofy cheesiness and genuine tension are really well balanced, and I really like the mystery thriller aspect and how "human" it feels

Birdman

A fantastic movie about how much Hollywood and Broadway both fucking suck. Harrowing, yet you can't even avert your eyes thanks to the very solid script, but especially the immaculate acting and direction.

Once again tried some demos for the Steam Next Fest. Highlights were Heroes of Might and Magic: The Olden Era, Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Pathologic 3

Demo thread for the october 2025 Next Fest

Tearscape
I already saw that game around in here, but I have to say it's pretty disappointing. There's not much to it beyond it's 2 obvious inspirations (GBC Zelda and Dark Souls/Bloodborne) and the gameplay looks pretty shallow and unpolished so far.

Servant of the Lake

A point & click full of riddles, puzzles and morbid humor. The demo's on the shorter side, but it's quite charming.

Xanthiom II

A very conventional metroidvania, with a highly customisable gun. It plays alright, but it lacks originality, boldness and look a bit too "low budget" for me to be fully on board.
Very nice from them to include the demo of the first game's remake tho

Pathologic 3

Never played a Pathologic game before but I think I already have the vision (although I didn't experience its legendary harsh difficulty, unless it's supposed to just be emotionally). Very well written, with an already fascinating world, atmosphere and premise.

Mik

Great 3D plateformer. I'm not sure about the story but the atmosphere and visuals are already amazing.

Escape From Ever After

I feel like there's a lot of indie games inspired by Paper Mario that came out these last years. Aniyway this one is pretty neat. It's themed around fairytales and classic books, and the demo takes place in a Shadow over Innsmouth spoof.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Looks very nice, gameplay is quite (Wolverine & Phyla-Vell best characters) fun and the music's great (as expected from Tee Lopes). Only downside is the very inconsistent and just not very good voice acting.

Heroes of Might and Magic: The Olden Era

A new HoMM? In this economy?
Clearly inspired by the 3rd one (which is a good thing), and it seems to be as fun and addicting as the best ones, plus I dig the new artsyle. It's quite buggy though, and the balance could be further refined

Yeah I have no doubts one of the fastest selling game on switch sold more that Typing Adventure.

Anyway all sources regarding Palworld's sales claim that it sold at least 20M units. Meanwhile here's the sales for every mainline pokemon games

The issue is that, unlike Digimon, Palworld sold more than the majority of Pokemon games

Bubsy 4D

Not exceptional by any means, and the humour is definitely not my style to say the least, but the gameplay's pretty fun and there's clearly some crazy movement potential for those into it
