So my view is that the tax is good policy. There will be inefficiencies and unfairnesses, as with all taxes, but the basic concept is a good one. I wrote more about that in our Budget round-up: taxpolicy.org.uk/2025/11/26/t...

I don't mean to get all earnest but his idea - he sells posh wines by the glass while cutting, customers can buy bottles of their faves at the end - is a delightful, posh and harmless and will do total numbers in Brighton, and this kind of council shit is why we have no growth

When I investigated this issue a couple of years ago, we found it upsettingly easy to identify missing asylum seeker kids. They have posters on Missing People, yet no family or friends appealing for them. Nothing has improved.

I've had friends who have had to have that exact conversation with parents after abnormal findings. It poisons relationships, in some cases permanently.

Limb reconstruction: surgery, engineering and carpentry all at once. It feels (and is) very 'space age'. The frame is constructed of a hexapod or Stewart Platform, which is also used for telescopes and flight simulators.

The app is programmed to match this frame on my leg, and tells me how far I have to move tiny dials on the side each day to rotate the bone just over one degree, until my foot, knee and hip are in line.
