It's certainly up there among Telltale's best.
Excellent characters, great banter, great scenes, pitch perfect tone.
That said, I do have qualms with the very lackluster main villain and certain narrative decisions in Episode 8.
Still p peak tho!

Sauceless. Zestless. No flavour nor garnish.
Pulls every single one of its punches narratively and thematically.
Have all the cool action scenes you like but if the scenes surrounding them aren’t compelling, maybe go back to the drawing board.

Just 9 hours of me falling in love with Phil Tippett.
What a gem that man is.

Come for the soothing ASMR-adjacent exercise, stay for the fact that it has !! lore !! that's genuinely engaging, plus a very sweet end credits scene.

Full disclosure, I haven't played the original. So, why play the sequel first?
Because frankly, that's the best way to experience this game, free from what everyone wanted it to be.
Instead, it's a flawed yet very enjoyable pulpy gothic neo-noir fable.

This truly was the ERA for licensed games that have no right to be as good as they are lol!

Honestly could have had four totally different games on this list and I'd still stand by it. Truly magical console and era.

This entire reboot was worth it for the snowman sequence alone.
The rest of it is pretty great too.

Overall, I do like it. There are certain qualms I have with the game and its story, but I admire Remedy's vision enough to recognise their talents, and it's foolish to ignore what a truly impressive feat this game is, faults and all.
