Rutland is charming. My husband’s family lived in Rutland for a year when he was in first grade & we’ve been to visit a few times. Will look for the memorial when we get back there.

Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

Speaker Johnson has literally said he's "not promising anyone anything."

For once, I believe him.
Looking for the same from @reprileyny.bsky.social. Time to speak up & act. NY19
It appears that the Senate has lived up to my expectations of the Senate. But I'm voting no on this bill once it gets to the House. Cutting Americans healthcare and locking in assaults on Congress' power of the purse ain't gonna happen with my consent.
I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️
Seems about right given how many more recipients have been at our local food bank in the last two weeks. 🤬

In the MAGA version of the Bible, Jesus miraculously multiplies the loaves and the fishes, then refuses to share the food with a famished crowd and instead ships it all to Argentina.
This would make a great noir poster or book cover
Interesting. Sent on to a friend with a small orchard very close to this.
I like to think former GOP moderate, Dutchess Exec & ousted NY19 rep Marc Molinaro’s hard turn to maga had a bit to do with that. They’re eating the cats! They’re eating the dogs!
Proud of my HV neighbors in Dutchess!

Trump is on live TV saying he wants to rig elections so Democrats can’t return to power. The most corrupt, anti-American administration in our history.
Trump: "They're gonna make DC a state and they're gonna make Puerto Rico a state. So now they pick up two states, four senators. They're gonna pick up electoral votes. It's gonna be a very, very bad situation. Now, if we do what I'm saying, they'll most likely never obtain power."

Pundits say the problem is that Democrats fail to represent the people—but the real problem is that our political system fails to represent the people.
The Dems have won the popular vote in presidential elections six times since 1992 by roughly 5.5%(1992), 8.5%,(1996) .5%(2000), 7.3%(2008), 4%(2012), 2%(2016),and 4.5%(2020).
In that period the GOP presidential candidate has won the popular vote twice: 2.5%(2004) and 1.5%(2024).
Douthat writes that 2024, when Harris lost by 1.5% of the popular vote, was "an ideological referendum and progressivism lost." I wonder why he didn't view the 2020 election, when Trump lost by 4.5% of the popular vote, as a far more significant loss for conservatism.

The dictator granted a friendly interview to the compromised media organization that bribed him. They edited out his most incendiary comments and presented a sanitized version of the dear leader to sell him to a nation wildly disapproving of his abuse of the rule of law.

When it comes to murdering fishermen on the high seas, Donald is lawless and careless, but when it comes to finding excuses not to feed Americans, he's a precise bureaucrat, obsessed with following the law.
