The first Christmas after my dad died, we got a pink synthetic Christmas tree to still do something to celebrate the holiday without trying to make it exactly how it has been with him around, so I still have a soft spot for them! Although, I also just generally like tacky neon pink things tbh

Granted, there are some unwritten rules, I don't think it would go over great if I showed up in something like pajamas or a tracksuit

In one of my bands, the only requirement for how we dress is "no one wears shorts, except for the drummer, who always wears shorts"

Probably some combination of buybacks in the very worst areas and funding for weather-hardened construction/renovation elsewhere would be ideal

To be good policy it would, in my opinion, need to be accompanied by a government buyback of at risk properties purchased before a certain point but just having the NFIP and similar state-level insurers charge market rates would push a lot of people out of disaster prone areas

Car insurance losses, which aren't generally affected by whether the insured driver lives, are higher for older drivers, which suggests to me that there's more to it than just the older drivers being more likely to die

Unironically, though, I like guac better with the avocado finely chopped instead of mashed, still creamy because the avocado inherently is but with a bit more texture

Also, Republicans call anyone at least as far left as Obama a socialist, so I'm a bit skeptical of what they're doing, even though the resolution's text focuses mostly on the worst authoritarian communists

Some of these are just odd--why would having a spam account be performative? (Unless they don't mean a burner address for signing up for spam emails).
