Exactly, and it works just as well with dark stories as it does with lighter, comical ones.
They must be afraid that the other characters will overshadow Batman (which is already somewhat the case when he joins a team, as he is always the least sympathetic member)

I think they're rather uncomfortable with characters her age (especially female ones) and also more generally with the dynamics of the Batfamily, whereas it's rather nice to see a solitary guy having to work with all these diverse young people🤔

Her character was really interesting in James Tynion IV's Detective Comics a few years ago.

It's quite a popular style here and has become quite widespread recently. But I suppose you have plenty to do locally and they must be expensive to import.
