Yeah, it feels a lot like he's become more of a puppet than anything else based on his behavior and those around him, but there's little to no actual verifiable evidence.

I'm not trying to argue either. I am just explaining (probably over explaining) that I cant verify it. I want to, but I cant. So I cant count it yet. "Yet" being key.

My motivation: ppl might make rash decisions they regret later or are harmful.

I believe you, when you say you saw it first hand, but I dont think we know each other, and for all we know either of us could be a sentient cat that learned how to type. So I cant vouch for you or verify that you arent the kind of person to lie or stir up stuff (though I assume your cool)

though it looks like its not coincidence. BUT people are scared (in general rn), there's no other social platform out there to jump ship to, and people have invested time and money into this platform, which raises the stakes. My original post was only that which could be verified 100%.

I'm on your side, I dont like what this looks like at all and it does look really bad. I only press because right now, it is very difficult to get the full picture of things with so many out there pushing narratives left and right. It is also easy to connect things that might be coincidence - even

too many variables and what ifs to know for sure that the current story being formed by the "community"(where anyone can just make an account and post) is what the truth is. Is it possible bsky is evil and have fallen? Ya, but its also possible the platform is getting destabilized by bad actors.

It is important to be careful about evidence and facts. Anything can be linked to just about anything, or framed in ways that could change what something looks like, and I just dont want to do the whole rumor drama stuff. I understand what you're saying. There just isn't an actual record to corroborate it. Changing TOS immediately after a controversy gives the appearance of a defensive or self-serving move, even though it matches industry norms. We just don't have enough information to say for sure.

Ahh, it's being passed around that this was the case but its not something that has evidence backing it yet. The TOS was changed, but it was for the new Online Safety Act, the EU's DSA, etc.

I was covering things that were confirmed for sure.

The CEO replied that since it didn’t happen on this platform, it wasn’t something they’d act on.

Culturally this is the way the US does stuff. For a long time instead of listening to Karl Popper, we've tolerated the intolerant. It's same ol' Capitalistic neutral whitewash stance.

Link is a different issue, in where that account of a person of color publicly "called out" a CEO for "following a racist" and then was banned, appeal denied - and officially given no reason for the permaban. I believe this wasnt bluesky, but blacksky, though that's unclear.

someone solely for their off-platform views (only on platform moderation). The breaking point of the community was when a user asked if he was banned yet and was replied to simply with "WAFFLES!" and from there on Jay kept up this sort of sarcastic trolling response line. The NSFW stuff isnt related

There's a lot of accounts of different things happening.
This is what I can confirm: Writer Jesse Singal (seen as transphobic or anti-trans in their writings) caught the ire of the community and they called for a ban or strong moderation for that account. Jay (CEO) responded that they would not ban

If only we had law makers that made laws to protect the people they're supposed to be working for. And that corporations weren't legally considered like people because that's really dangerous. Or a working regulatory system and watchdogs to prevent monopolies so consumers still had choice. :/

I needed to know what a teacup worg would even look like so I did a super quick sketch. Now I'm pretty convinced these should exist officially.
