Becky, was there not as much snow pack in the Glacier area this year? I ask because we visited a few years ago in early August and there was still a good amount of snow on many trails. Was told by Glacier rangers this is typical at that time of year. We hiked to Iceberg Lake. It was spectacular!

They are found very commonly in the Sierra Nevada. Very prevalent in Yosemite. We also have them in the Oakland Hills where there are lots of Redwoods. The Scrub Jays are more prevalent in the lower elevations.
