Though it does appear you can baby it into getting the right answer. Honestly a little surprising that a thinking model can't use the more general instructions to arrive at this conclusion.

Interestingly, if I ask nano banana for a cyclops, THEN ask for appropriate sunglasses to be added, it did OK:

Just checked and google's does fine. Agree on not trusting, though. It's been useful for finding things, but you alllllways have to check.

It actually did pretty well given a single panel. I mean not, like, good. But the Internet hasn't asked for good since roughly 1996. I wonder if we'll start seeing more of this.

One of the AI features that'd be really valuable for someone like me is straight conversion of a comic into an animated reel for various platforms. Well, Google has a new visual model, so I gave it a go. I would say it's not quiiiiite there.
