I've done a lot of comics, but I'm thinking this Donald Duck/Great Gatsby strip is what gets me in the history books

Sometimes, you do a comic just to convince yourself you're not optimizing for the instagram algorithm

Though it does appear you can baby it into getting the right answer. Honestly a little surprising that a thinking model can't use the more general instructions to arrive at this conclusion.

Yeah, oddly I can't even successfully get it to think harder. It seems to require an initial cyclops:

Interestingly, if I ask nano banana for a cyclops, THEN ask for appropriate sunglasses to be added, it did OK:

Gemini managed it, though with a large amount of internal thought

Just checked and google's does fine. Agree on not trusting, though. It's been useful for finding things, but you alllllways have to check.

Google's model actually does just fine. No idea what the diff is?

Found a really strange LLM bug! This is the latest OpenAI model:

Another interesting poem, this one being an elaboration on the Lord’ Prayer with added interludes originally in alliterative Old English.

For poetry nerds, this is neat. Alliterative verse half in Old English half in Latin.

It actually did pretty well given a single panel. I mean not, like, good. But the Internet hasn't asked for good since roughly 1996. I wonder if we'll start seeing more of this.

One of the AI features that'd be really valuable for someone like me is straight conversion of a comic into an animated reel for various platforms. Well, Google has a new visual model, so I gave it a go. I would say it's not quiiiiite there.

Read an author who said the British vice is sadomasochism, and then in a book on British kid culture I find this

So there's an old sea shanty called "Fire Maringo" that contains this stanza:

(found here: www.musicanet.org/robokopp/sha...)

I understand about the rounded aft, but what does the first part mean?

New Book Day! Please tell the world. Read a comic about it here: www.smbc-comics.com/comic/sawyer...

Or if you just want to buy it: us.macmillan.com/books/978037...

Thanks everyone! It took me over a year to write, but I think you and/or your kid(s) will have many laughs together.
