This fight has never been about undocumented people. Take a look at how they are treating American citizens.

This act of political theater is a waste, a waste of taxpayer money and a political theater.

Minnesota has always been a welcoming place for immigrants and it will continue to be 💜

Thanksgiving is next week, but too many families are worried about not being able to put food on the table. These are resources in Minneapolis for those who need it.

Today is Give to the Max Day. If you are able to donate to a local food shelf, I encourage you to do so! 💜

We’re officially in the third week of a government shutdown, and federal workers continue to have to show up to work every day without pay.

@emmagreenman.bsky.social, @aurinmpls.bsky.social and I are calling on Republicans to return to DC, negotiate with Democrats, and end this shutdown.

I love geeking out with @katiejonesmpls.bsky.social on clean energy!

On this bipartisan panel we discussed the role of renewable energy sources like solar and nuclear power, and how we can move forward a 100% renewable energy future by 2040.

Hate and antisemitism have no place in our city. We should all be free to practice whatever religion we please, without fear or intimidation.

Today, I was honored to join my colleagues in renaming the 10th Ave bridge as the Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic Memorial Bridge.

Sen. Dziedzic demonstrated how to lead with courage and how to deliver for Minnesotans. This bridge is a monument to her service.

I’m proud that my speed camera pilot program is now being implemented.

This will protect Minnesotans by reducing reckless driving and speeding.

These cameras will capture the license plates of speeding drivers and the city will mail a ticket to their home. So, drive carefully!

We need an assault weapons ban in Minnesota. 60% of Americans support it, and Minnesotans want to get it done.

Call your State Senator. Call your State Representative. It’s up to us to come together and make it clear that this has to be the top priority. We CAN do this.

Deep gratitude to everyone who took part in this working group on gun violence prevention, especially those who testified on Monday. I also want to thank my Co-chair Senator Ron Latz, and for leading a respectful conversation about how we move forward. 1/3

Today, the Senate Working Group on Gun Violence Prevention held its first hearing today, where I presented my bill to ban assault rifles. I am so grateful to the families and the local leaders who showed up today to testify and share their experience with gun violence. (1/2)

It was such a joy and honor to celebrate over two decades of impact by the African Development Center — an organization that has become nothing short of a cornerstone in our community.

ADC is a pillar, and continues to build equity in our African immigrant community.

Thank you!

Creating space to celebrate the women in our community filled my heart. Having Warsan Shire, whose words have carried me my whole life made it so special. So grateful to our team and everyone who joined in honoring the beauty of African women. 💜
