That picture suggests the critical change might have been the "disposable" blade.

No, I am not the only possible source, but there is a version of the ending story which lurks in my memory, and seems to be a different version of the final story.

Np, I find something in Part 9. It's a brief visit to the place. Memory made more of it. But that was me.

This took a bit of effort to find. It is to the north of Sainsbury's in Scunthorpe and neither mapping apps nor photos they link to show any reason to call it a "roundabout", That word has a special meaning in traffic law.

The on-net source I found ends with Book 2 part 6. I do have more. parts 6c to 10

Am I going to become one of those dreadful porn publishers?

This is where you need to be able to try things.

Even the ultra-cheap Chinese stuff should let you see the field of view and get a feel for the weight, how it can be carried, and how easy it is to aim in the right direction. And that's not wonderful advice.

The past "opera glasses" label suggests a low-power indoor style that might overlap with "camping binoculars". I wouldn't rule out China as a source; everybody used to make cheap rubbish as well as any good sruff.

People will argue endlessly about makers/brands. The magnification*lens-diameter is often used for bragging. I had a pair of cheap 10*50 binoculars and that's too big and heavy. Your "brief" might allow 7*35. Is that too much for indoors? 5*25 could be enough.

You can see some of the same issues when a movie uses CGI instead of drawings for animation. You can go back to what Peter Jackson was assembling to make Lord of the Rings. Something like #SecondLife, has to be able to get live images to the user. He didn't have to be that fast.

There was also something about how 3D meshes can be made and then rendered, how much data is needed to get a particular look, how a surface is bent. A sheet of paper is a surface, and you can fold it to get a sudden edge, but is it really a sharp edge?

I thought the stories had vanished. I do not know who of that gang is still alive. But my memories of how it all happened challenge so many of the assumptions force-fed to us by the internet today.

And then I came across the stories, still out there on the net, at least until another server dies.

I cannot but wonder if the trailer is faked and the audience for the Premiere will be locked in a church by Russian paratroopers pretending to be American soldiers.

I could have been exposed to this through past use of Google Cardboard, as they sourced samples there. And it could be real. But why should I revive a dead contact with these people

The ultimate stupidity of all this is that a Government can borrow money at far lower interest rates than anyone else, anywhere in the entire Solar System, is charged by any sort of private finance.

The first woman to be Lord Mayor of London took office in 1983, the second in 2013. Dame Sarah Langley, on the 8th November, will be the first to be formally the Lady Mayor of London. That will excite some people but could be a distraction some will try to exploit.
