I think it’s safe to say that you wouldn’t get along with people who miss Erich Honecker in general. My father uses my OCD as an excuse to be how he is even though no one else in my family approves of how he treats me. He’s very discriminatory towards neurodivergent people.

I think my father’s admiration for dictators in general reflects his need to be a control freak in the house. Some of his favorite men in the world include Bashar al-Assad and Muammar Gaddafi. I think his admiration for them speaks for itself. And yes, he also is a fanboy for Vladimir Putin as well.

He also dreams of living in luxury in the United Arab Emirates, an absolute monarchy. Wanting to live in an absolute monarchy is literally the most un-American thing imaginable. America was born from defying the authority of a king after all.
