when I was young, I was particularly good at appealing to parents and authority figures, so I may just be bitter that instead of it getting me national influence it just got me sent out to talk to grown ups when me and my friends were high
"Charisma" also depends on your audience. I think people were drawn in by Billy McFarland and Elizabeth Holmes yet when I've seen them talk it doesn't work on me at all.
I love that at some point wacky shape occasion glasses became a natural part of society that our kids will never know life without in the same way that something like huge, water tank based water guns did for us
