we’re not the first people to do collaborative course design or writing, but we hope our contribution sheds some light on classroom power relations and highlights that students are already knowledge producers capable of contributing to pedagogical scholarship 🌻

Input, respect, and a little uncertainty: student perspectives on collaborative course design
Collaborative course design – the process of students and teacher deciding on the scope and nature of a course together – offers novel ways of conceptualizing and practicing power relations and sol...

we use decolonial feminist scholar María Lugones’ concepts of “world”-travelling and playfulness to think through some of the power relations between teacher and students, and how we can work with or alter them (if not entirely eradicate them) /

our article not only reflects on our specific collaborative course experience, it also develops collaboration as a co-authoring method, and points out some of the barriers to recognising students as producers of knowledge in the current academic publishing process /

students are often encouraged to develop their own voices in classroom settings, but less so in the realm of academic publishing. students are often only included indirectly, eg through interviews or quotes from feedback surveys /

once again, you have to write to your broadcasters RIGHT NOW. tell them this isn’t enough, and you want them to demand israel’s exclusion, and then if necessary, withdraw.

if you say you’re happy to keep watching because the ebu fixed the voting rules, you are saying you’re fine with israel competing as long as they don’t win. but they will still be there, still an equal partner among all the other entries, still promoting their narrative.

eurovision could have the most democratic, robust voting system in the world and it still wouldn’t matter because ISRAEL WOULD STILL BE COMMITTING GENOCIDE. israel out or bust.
November 21, 2025 at 10:32 AM
these are superficial, technocratic changes that make it *seem* like democracy is being restored while keeping all real decision making power with the ebu. they tinker with the rules and “values” every other year to make better television, this is obviously not meaningful change
